The society of the 21 century can be characterized as intelligence and information centered in which individuality and autonomy take on a critical meaning in this century. This profound shift requires a change in attitudes and consciousness. The Busan Women Education Center (BWEC) will foster women with open consciousness and diverse abilities to create a more desirable gender, family, and social culture in which every woman is respected as a human being. We will strive to overcome a system of sexist education and pursue a new education system which will reflect women's needs and eventually improve the quality of women's lives. We also will change the patriarchal culture of educational organization to that of a gender-equal culture which emphasizes participation and autonomy. We will play a leading role in Busan area as a professional agency of women's education and feminist organization. In this way, we will contribute to the development of the community by doing continuous research on methods and programs to educate women and improve the quality of their lives.
